'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith renews battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic final moments of Swansea's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative strike from 25 yards, and the defender immediately slammed home the loose ball before charging toward the East Stand to celebrate, with the crowd swarming the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result sealed an unbelievable comeback given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 during the second half. In the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory earned a upcoming match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a team Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right defensive wing after the team changed formation. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the City players who complimented the way Orient attacked the game.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the basics and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they are adept at manage and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a resilient mindset and concentration just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a popular figure across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has swiftly replicated that in south Wales. At the London club he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a temporary move at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a bit naive going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without real physicality. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that maturation for his team and nation, excelling for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has started the last several matches, including home and away fixtures against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he handles the football and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Early Days

This marks a remarkable path for the youngster from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who used to see his father, his father, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

The player's only game for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to conditions of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was chilly," he says, chuckling. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and get a couple of minutes at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "It was quite easy, because I reached the point where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a small coach driven by academy staff, the drivers, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to interact with the teammates but I'm planning to be the next one out of the minibus and on the road. Franco is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on the Tube after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
